IDEA: to make Rokas throw the Heffalump
NOTE: the picture of the Heffalump is taken by the group of Rokas, Susanne, Cornelia and me
Lets start with the Heffalump. He has been selected from a picture using the Channels - choosen the blue - and then the Calculator using the Blending Multiply. Before doing this, the Exposure and Color Balance had been changed to create a bigger difference of the Heffalump and the background
When much of the Heffalump was black, the rest was painted black and then the Layer Mask was created, making it close to perfect by adjusting it by hand
The background picture was added the Heffalump, Free Transform was used to turn him upside down. The Motion Blur - Angle -90 and Distance 40 pixels - was applied to create some motion making it seem like he was thrown in the air.
In the background picture, the sweater was painted over using the Clone Stamp in a new layer.
A Gradient was created and applied to create the nice colors - blended as Soft Light, Opacity 60%.
The black dots from the camera was a brush, defined for the purpose using the Ellipse Tool.
Scattering was applied when painting with the brush. Bevel and Emboss was added to make them more bubbly and finally some Motion blur, the same as for the Heffalump, to make them fly.
Composition: Working with fore- and background as well as a bit of thirds...
